WORKSHOPS

Following the success of sustainable fashion workshops ENVELOPE during last years L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival. Envelope collaborates once again with MüCKE. These two fashion specials team up to give Melbourne one on one sessions to personalise fashion items while embracing ecological design principles.

If you have ever wondered what its like to create a garment from scratch ENVELOPE workshops will whet your palette! The workshops will bring participants in contact with how a garment is constructed from material selection, pattern and stitching to reconstructing the finished product.

The duo will present 8 workshops, ENVELOPE will offer 4 on transforming a fashion garment and 4 with MüCKE to create a personalised fashion accessory. With only seven people per session participants will receive an envelope kit (made from 25% recycled polyethelene) plus a two hour workshop.

The ENVELOPE kit contains a high fashion garment. The garment can be worn as a coat, skirt, dress and top. It can be made into a shelter when five or more people come together. The MüCKE kit contains a high fashion accessory made from a recycled t-shirt. Stamping, stitching and embellishing, you customise your accessory to suit your individual style.

Also as a new edition to the festival, the designers of ENVELOPE and MüCKE, Anthea van Kopplen and Ellie Mücke have created a space that holds inspiring, pre-made garments and accessories with a twist. The pop up shop will have these items for sale during the festival at The Atrium, Federation Square.
